Dear Precious Friends,
We are back in Africa for the fall campaign of Crusade and Evangelizing more unreached villages. Eighteen new churches will be planted in areas where no church has ever existed, and another one will be planted in the Sudan , giving us our second church in that war torn country. We can't believe eighteen years have gone by, in fact, it was on July 26th eighteen years ago that we were on a plane headed to Africa for the first time.
As the flight was coming into the airspace before landing, the Lord gave me (Celeste) an impression of His Hand being extended to us with Africa in it, and the perception that he was saying, "I'm giving you this land."
Here we are eighteen years later and I was just pondering on that memory and realizing that He indeed has had us there "for such a time as this." (see the book of Esther).
It has not been easy, in fact, after the first six weeks there, Loren was ready to leave and wipe the dust from his feet because, basically, the church itself was so compromising and fearful that it was not reaching out in evangelism. It was satisfied to stay in line with the government mandate (at that time) that outdoor evangelism was outlawed and Christians would be persecuted. ( by government mandate ). Well, obviously, you know that we stayed and continued to serve the Lord by proclaiming boldly that Jesus Christ was the only way to Heaven, and that no man could come to the Father but by Him. (John 14:6). It is a privilege that the Lord has mandated us to work among Muslims, animists and pagans to shine the light of the gospel upon them. He commanded us to do our part and "go tell". It would be up to the individual to accept or reject so great a salvation!
You have been helping us to do our part, two plane crashes and countless other life threatening incidents later, and for that we want to say thank you. Eighteen years later, together, we have built 160 churches in unreached areas over thousands of square miles in seven African countries, plus leadership seminars and open air meetings where hundreds of thousands have heard the gospel. Thank you dear friend. God loves you so much for being faithful and obedient. Continue to pray for us as we do for you.
